It’s the habits we form over a period of time that CAN eventually create the results we yearn for, or quite the opposite. The deciding factor in that would be whether or not the things you do on a daily basis support that of your goals. We are often too concentrated on the end result and lose sight of the power we have in the present moment’s decision, and therefore lose the motivation to start achieving our goals through supportive daily habits.
If you were to think of time as an illusion, which in essence it is, it doesn’t matter “how long” it would take you to get to your goal, you're just going to get there if you believe that you will. Furthermore, the way you get there is also in your hands; happily or dreadfully.
Where we get stuck and hopeless, stems from the negativity of our thoughts. However, the decisions you make and thoughts you think on a daily basis create your reality. Think positively, and you’ll be more likely to make positive decisions; they go hand in hand. The decisions you have made up until this point in your life, and the thoughts about yourself that you have believed to be true, is what has created your current reality. Therefore, the power is in your hands to re-wire your brain towards optimism, that will lead you to re-create daily habits in support of achieving your goals.
Our reality is an accumulation of the habits we form, so start empowering yourself to create habits that support your goals that will also bring you enjoyment. Do anything that brings you real joy and fulfillment, almost as if you lose track of time when you are engaging in that certain activity. Hence, time is an illusion !!!
So, the secret to your success is found in your daily routine. It could be waking up earlier than everyone else at home to get in a 5-10 minute mediation that will set the tone for the rest of your day. It could be cooking a delicious meal for yourself and plating it beautifully, and eating intuitively without distraction, leading to better digestion, satiety and satisfaction. It could be getting to bed early and reading a book that you’re really into, which is probably a better habit for your mental health than it is scrolling though Instagram, where most of us subconsciously are comparing ourselves to the lives of others that we see through a screen.
It’s about the journey, not the final destination.
When we start building these small habits into our routine, and are happy doing these little things everyday, positive shifts take place without us putting too much pressure. Then, it doesn't just become about the outcome, but about the decisions you made that eventually lead you to your desired outcome. Where focus goes, energy flows !
Bottomline: quick fixes don't work. Not for your mental happiness at least, so nix ‘em! Isn’t the underlying goal behind any goal to bring you happiness anyways? Think about that. True happiness and success can only be found from help from within.
Most importantly, enjoy where you are at now because you are exactly where you are supposed to be. We are all guilty of getting wrapped into where we should be, causing us unnecessary stress and anxiety. You’ll get where you want to be with ease, just choose wisely each day. The time is going to go by anyways, so why not start incorporating new habits today. Stay present and engaged, love yourself as you are now, and enjoy the ride.
Remember, time is always advancing, so advance and flow with it, and the shifts that will take place will be well-worth your effortless efforts ;)
